About Our President

N.J. Olivieri moved to Sarasota in 1972, where he worked for several commercial mortgage-banking firms before starting Horizon Mortgage Corporation in 1979. Horizon has grown to be one of the largest commercial mortgage banking companies on the West Coast of Florida, if not the largest.

Also, as a sister company and now as a merged division, Horizon Real Estate & Investment, which was founded in 1974 and is now also known as Horizon Mortgage Corporation, is one of the leading commercial real estate firms on the West Coast of Florida and is the largest as far as closings are concerned in Sarasota. Horizon is ranked 1st in Sarasota, 4th on the West Coast of Florida, and 15th in the State.

N.J. has also been involved with several commercial developments including renovating and rehabbing twenty-one commercial buildings in The City of Sarasota including Towles Court, the artist community, for which he received a beautifcation award by The City.

N.J. Olivieri received his Masters of Business Administration from East Tennessee State University where he has master majors in Finance, Management and Real Estate. He has been actively involved in the community, as he was twice chairman of the March of Dimes, founded the local chapter of Cerebral Palsy, a member of Sertoma, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, past member of the Committee of 100, a member of the National Association of Mortgage Bankers where he serves on several national committees, holds a real estate brokerage license and a lenders license in the State of Florida.

Plus, being the father of six daughters gives him the negotiating ability to complete many difficult mortgage and real estate transactions.
